The Latin American Society of Intercultural Studies (SoLEI), was born in 2012 in Temuco, Chile, within the framework of the Congress on American Indian Languages and Literatures, organized annually by the University of the Frontier. Later in 2015, within the framework of the 55th Congress of Americanists in El Salvador (2015), SoLEI organizes the Symposium "Literature, art and politics in the contemporary cultural expressions of Abya-Yala". In this space it is proposed that in 2016 the "I International Congress SoLEI" Discursive Territories in Latin America: interculturality, communication and identity "in Quito, Ecuador.
During the first Congress, the creation of the committee was agreed and it is proposed that in 2018 the Faculty of Educational Sciences of the Universidad del Magdalena, and the Latin American Society of Intercultural Studies -SoLEI-, be the one to hold the II SoLEI International Congress.
